The Alto Melimoyu reminded me of a Swiss chalet. Rooms and bathrooms are large, clean and comfortable. Only complaints are somewhat of a musty smell in the bathroom and too-small windows that don’t maximize the wonderful views of surrounding snow capped mountains. Breakfast was hearty with fresh fruit. Staff speak little English. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, but the menu is pretty basic...crepes and the typically bad Chilean pizza. I strongly suggest walking next door to the Espacio y Tiempo for dinner, we ate there twice and it was wonderful. You might also consider the Espacio as a place to stay; it looks really nice although we didn’t see any of the rooms.

My grown son and I are just wrapping up a 17 day road/fly fishing trip through Patagonia. I can afford to stay anywhere but like to get of the beaten path when I travel. We have stayed in everything from AirBNB, backpacking, cabanas to hosterlias, and to land in this gem was wonderful. Nice, modern space with excellent amenities and warmth. Best shower I have had in South America, which after several weeks of low water pressure was a real treat.

Desayuno rico. Muy recomendable!
